Well the odd thing about the "one in four people didn't read a book last year" is that you're either a "reader" or you're not at all. Out of the people who read 1 or more books last year, a large percentage of them read a whopping 5 books each month, which is a fantastic!
It seems one of the easiest (and CHEAPEST!) ways to read that many books each month is to rent them from one of those online rental websites, like Bookswim - http://www.bookswim.com. I try to, but I can't seem to get through more than 3 (I wish I could read FASTER!).

great info, thanks so much! I always have so many books I want to read and I end up reading about 10 at the same time, which doesn't really work for me. I am going experiment with your strategy : )

I'm glad that you both liked my post about reading. This approach has changed my whole reading habits for me and been working out great. Seems so simple: 10 pages twice a day plus 3 pages twice a day on the 2nd book. It's crazy how much you can read doing that. Glad you guys liked it!

Thanks for these tips - it's very useful advice. I also discovered audio books about a year ago and have been amazed at how much more material I can get through. Your point about replacing watching TV with reading is well made.
